Top 50 In-Demand Occupations

The Top 50 Occupations were selected in the following way:

  • A "Top 50 rating" was created by multiplying the Projected Need for Employees times the Median Hourly Wage.
  • Occupations whose Median Wage is less than $20/hr were eliminated.
  • Of the remaining occupations, only the top 50 were selected.

Initially, all of the occupations are displayed in descending order using the Top 50 rating (most desirable to least desirable). You may resort the occupations by clicking on a "Sort by" link in the table header.

Please also note that the wages for Airline Pilots, Copilots, and Flight Engineers are from November 2007. They will be updated shortly.

Resort by Top 50 Rating (default setting)
